The basics
Do I have to be home?
No. We need gate access. If your dog is in the yard and isn't sure about us, leave them inside on scoop day.
Is there a contract?
No. Weekly card billing through Jobber. Pause or cancel by text.
Are you insured?
Yes. Liability and key-holder coverage. Ask to see it and we will send the certificate.
Who actually shows up?
The same person, every visit. There is no rotation and no subcontractor. Your dog will know the car.
How do I pay?
Card on file through Jobber, charged once a week after the visits are done. You get an emailed receipt. No cash, no e-transfer chasing.
Can I get scoop and walks on the same day?
Yes, and it's the cheapest way to do both.
What happens if you're sick or on holiday?
You get a text before your usual day, not after. Missed visits on our side are never charged, and planned time off goes out to clients ahead of time.
Scooping
What happens to the waste?
Bagged, tied and put in your garbage bin, not the green bin. We don't haul it away, which is part of how the price stays at $30.
Do you work in winter?
Yes, year-round. If a storm buries the yard we skip that visit and don't charge for it.
What counts as the yard?
Grass, garden beds, gravel, along the fence, under the deck if we can reach. If your dog uses the front lawn too, tell us and we do that as well.
How long does a visit take?
Ten to twenty minutes for a typical village lot on a weekly schedule. First visits and catch-ups take longer, which is why those are quoted separately.
What if my dog is in the yard?
If your dog is friendly and used to visitors, that's fine. If not, or if you're not sure, keep them inside on scoop day. Text us and we will work out a routine.
What if the gate is locked?
We text on the way, so there is time to unlock it. If we arrive and cannot get in, we try once more that day. A second wasted trip is charged as a visit.
Do you do a one-time clean-up?
Yes. Spring clean-ups and catch-ups are quoted on the spot, usually $75 to $150 depending on the yard. Most people do one and then go weekly.
Walks
How do walks work if I'm at work?
We pick up from your home, walk thirty minutes in your neighbourhood, and bring them back. Key or lockbox code kept on file, and a photo when we're done.
When do walks happen?
Midday, between 10:30 and 2:30, Monday to Friday. You get a consistent slot; we text on the way each time.
On leash or off?
On leash, always. Your leash and harness, or ours if you prefer. We do not do off-leash or dog parks.
What about rain, heat or minus thirty?
Rain: we walk. Heat warnings and extreme cold: we shorten the walk, add water and a towel, and text you. A missed walk is never charged.
Two dogs?
Two dogs from the same house walk together for $10 more per walk. Three or more, ask; it depends on the dogs.
Puppies, seniors, reactive dogs?
Puppies and seniors are fine; we adjust pace and distance. For reactive dogs we do a meet-and-greet first and walk quiet routes. Aggressive dogs, we will be honest if it is not a fit.
Do you do group walks or hikes?
Not yet. Walks are one household at a time. Group walks may come once there are enough dogs on the same street.
Where and when
Where do you go?
Russell, Embrun and Morewood, including rural lots. Limoges, Vars, Marionville and Metcalfe are not on the route yet; they open up when enough people on one street ask. Text us and you are on the list.
What day will you come?
We assign a day based on the route and keep it the same each week. You can request a day; we will say yes if it fits.
Can I pause for a holiday?
Yes. Text us the dates. You are not charged for skipped weeks.
